We must keep in mind: WordPress is primarily a blogging software tool. It was created with blogging in mind. It is a Content Management System (CMS). Just because it is an easy website building tool, it does not limit us from using it to create websites.

There are three flavors of Wordpress: “mu.wordpress.org”, “.com”, and “.org”.

The first is for hosting several wordpress blogs under one domain. It is for anyone wanting to control and manage several blogs from one host or to control a network of related blogs like a university overseeing a community of teacher’s blogs.

The second, “.com”, is the hosted wordpress software. No hosting service is required to run this software. You can install it; pick your blog name; and, start blogging.

The third version, “.org”, requires a hosting service. It is more complicated to install. The “.org” version is better for affiliate marketers because of the complete freedom of content it allows the affiliate marketer. What puts many newbies off from using this software is that it is a little more difficult to install.

I built my first website under the .com umbrella. As an Internet marketer, I quickly learned that the hosted .com version frowned on content that included affiliate links. However, it did allow me to gain some experience and to become familiar with webpage terminology.

The primary reason an affiliate marketer should choose Wordpress for his first site is to gain confidence and to be able to hit the road running. Support for Wordpress within the Wordpress organization and across the global Internet is huge. Visit forums and you will find Wordpress the website building tool of choice.

You cannot ignore some limitations. Categories are limited to posts. Static pages all have the same sidebars and pages cannot be easily categorized. Many of the limitations can be overcome with some programming knowledge.

The pros far outweigh any cons. There are thousands of themes to choose from. The number of plug-ins grows daily. Plug-ins make the newbie website creator appear to be an expert and give the website professional look.

Best of all, it is FREE!

How To Recover Lost Wordpress Passwo

After seeing the article title you are maybe asking yourself: Why somebody writes something like that? Everything what I need to recover my Wordpress password is to click one link and let the script to send new password to my email. If you are thinking in this way I am pretty sure you are one of the lucky webmasters who never needed to solve this issue.

If you didn’t write new posts for your blog for longer time or if you checked the Remember Me field you didn’t need to enter your username and password for some time. In this case there is a big chance that you forgot them. If you got an error when you are signing in follow these steps:

1. Determine if you are signing in with wrong username or password (or both). Read the error message displayed above the login box. It will tell either ERROR: Incorrect password or ERROR: Invalid username. If you get Invalid username error it is possible that both username and password are wrong. If you get the Incorrect password error the username is valid and you can use it in the form described in the next steps.

2. Click the Lost your password link in the bottom. A form with 2 fields will be displayed.

3. Using this form you can generate new password and let it to send to your email which you have entered when you installed the Wordpress script. The common problem is that you usually don’t remember either username or email which have you used by the weblog installation. Without these information is not possible to recover lost password.

4. Now you will need to determine which email address and what username have you used. Log in your web hosting control panel (hopefully you didn’t forget your username or password ) and click the MySQL database icon (or PHPmyAdmin depending on the control panel provided by your web hosting company). Select the database where are your weblog data stored and log in the PHPmyAdmin. In the left menu search for table named wp_users. Click the link and in the next step click Browse link in the top. Look for the row with ID 1. In this row you will find your username and email (yes, your password is stored there too but it is encoded so there is no chance to read it).

5. Now go back to Wordpress log in page and click the Lost your password link again. Fill in your username and email and submit the form. Now check your email and click the link inside to confirm you really asked for password reset.

6. Wait for a moment and check your email again. You will get another message with your new password.

Many PHP scripts require to know both username and email used by installation in case to reset your password. If you will need to recover password from another script working in this way you can also try to follow the steps described above. To avoid unplesant situation with lost password you can try to save them using software like Roboform or Password manager integrated in your browser.

Looking for an easy-to-follow Wordpress tutorial? Look no further. Below is what can probably be the world’s most simplified Wordpress tutorial.

Wordpress is one amazing blogging platform. It makes everything so easy! In fact, with the way Wordpress simplifies things, people can actually use this platform to create dynamic websites that are very easy to update. Indeed, using Wordpress is easier than learning and applying HTML codes, using HTML editors like FrontPage and Dreamweaver, learning CSS, and learning how to add content by manually editing the source code. With Wordpress, you can just click on “Add New Post,” paste your new content, and click “Publish.” It’s as easy as that!

The problem is, installing Wordpress isn’t as easy as using it. This is especially true for people who are forced to manually install this blogging platform. Clearly, Wordpress tutorial is needed when it comes to manually installing this wonderful program.

Well, here is the Wordpress Tutorial you need. Manual installation of a Wordpress blog in 9 simple steps:

1. Decide on whether or not you want the Wordpress blog to appear as soon as your visitor would type your URL, like http://www.yourURL.com, or when they type a subpage of your URL, like http://www.yourURL.com/yoursubpage.

2.	Download the Wordpress installer from http://www.wordpress.org/download.

3.	If you want the blog to appear on the main index page of your website, upload the Wordpress installer to your website’s public_html folder. If you want the blog to appear on a subpage, upload the Wordpress installer to the folder of the subpage you desire. Uploading files to your web hosting service will require an FTP program like Filezilla, or by means of cPanel (go to File Manager and use Upload Files) which comes with most web hosting packages these days. You can also use upload managers from old – and dare I say primitive – hosting services, though they do not allow you to upload an entire folder, hence, you might end up uploading each and every file individually.

4.	Extract the uploaded Wordpress installer, again via FTP or via cPanel. Wordpress will take care of the rest.

5.	Create a MySQL database via cPanel. This database will be dedicated to Wordpress.

6.	Look for the file wp-config-sample.php and rename it to wp-config.php.

7.	Open the newly renamed wp-config.php with Notepad. Edit the following lines:

define(’DB_NAME’, ‘(insert the desired name of the database here’); //

define(’insert your MySQL username here’, ”); //

define(’insert your password here’, ”); //

8.	Go to http://www.yourURL.com/wp-admin/install.php if your Wordpress installer is uploaded in your root folder, or http://www.yourURL.com/subpage/wp-admin/install.php if your Wordpress is uploaded in a subpage. Installation will be automatic once the correct page is loaded.

9.	Start posting!

The Wordpress tutorial above will guide you every step of the way when it comes to manually installing your Wordpress blog. Easy, isn’t it? Do it once and you’ll get the hang of it immediately. And before you know it, you’ll be installing Wordpress blogs for your friends like a pro!

If a visitor goes to a particular page, it is almost a given that he’ll be interested with content that is similar to the content published on that very page.If you will be able to present such a visitor with a list of blog entries related to the one he is reading, then you’ll have better chances of retaining him for a few more minutes… and perhaps even gaining a loyal reader who will keep coming back to your blog.

How, then, can you display a list of related posts on every blog page you’re maintaining?

The short answer, if you’re using Wordpress: use Similar Posts, a plugin that will help you collate all the related posts in your blog and display them in a list that will be easy for your visitors to peruse.

Indeed, Similar Posts is an excellent way of advertising the other pages of your blog. It’s an excellent way of offering readers more relevant content with the goal of making them stay longer until they warm up to your business or they get exposed to your business message.

Some would say that a tag organizing plugin, such as Utimate Tag Warrior and Simple Tags, would suffice for this purpose.

Tags alone, however, aren’t enough barometers of relevance. They may be able to group together content for same niche, but when it comes to a more specific classification – such as a sub-niche – tags may be found wanting.

Similar Posts gauge the similarity of blog entries by measuring the 20 most frequently used words of a particular post and comparing it with 20 of the most frequently used words of other posts. The results are astoundingly accurate, as the most relevant results are fetched and delivered for the visitor’s perusal and enjoyment.

Of course, the Similar Posts Wordpress plugin allows for customization of the number of most frequently used words to be compared. If blog entries consist of long articles, for example, the number of comparative words can be increased to 30 or even 35.

Similar Posts acts like an indexer for your blog. When a visitor loads up a page, this Wordpress plugin seeks out other pages with related content. Once the requested page is loaded up, Similar Posts displays the related pages.

The result is simply marvelous.

Such is a testament to the credo that there is no tweak that is too small as to fail to create a huge impact. Similar Posts may be a simple Wordpress add-on, but it can work wonders for your blog and its ability to convey messages efficiently, and more importantly, to increase the blog’s visitor retention rate significantly.

We recommend that you download this Plugin and place it straight on your Blog in order to get the best results. Visit http://www.myeasyonlinepay.com/blogging-tools for a comprehensive selection of Plugins on the internet today.

Tags, as many people say, are the new keywords. They are the classificatory terms for the Web 2.0 movement that has swept the internet for a couple of years now. If keywords appeal to search engines, tags appeal to living, breathing, thinking human beings.Familiar with Technorati? It is a website that collates the newest entries from blogs all over the internet. To find particular entries, you can use tags. Tags are user-designated words or phrases that tell other people what the user’s content is all about. A blog entry about shampoos for our canine companions can have the tags dog care, pet care, and dog grooming. If these tags are used for the said blog entry, the post will be categorized under groups representing the tags chosen.

Imagine if you can arrange your blog entries according to tags, and such tags can be used by your readers to find other posts in your blog.

That would be cool, right?

This is the reason why the Ultimate Tag Warrior is hailed as one of the best plugins for the Wordpress blogging platform. The Ultimate Tag Warrior basically adds a tag cloud, which is like a box filled with tags, with the more popular tags (determined by number of clicks garnered) having bigger fonts than less popular tags.

Such a tag cloud is widely utilized in many Web 2.0 website like the aforementioned Technorati, Del.icio.us and Del.irio.us.

However, the tags that will appear inside the tag cloud displayed on a blog that has installed the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin will lead to posts within the blog itself whenever the said tags will be clicks. These tags won’t lead the visitor to outside websites. These tags will lead visitors to your own blog entries.

Indeed, the Ultimate Tag Warrior is a great way of jazzing up the aesthetics of your blog and improving the interconnectivity of your blog posts. It’s like creating an entire universe within the confines of your Wordpress blog.

The Ultimate Tag Warrior also works well with other Wordpress plugins. Some of the combinations seem like they’re made in heaven. Take for example the combo provided by the Ultimate Tag Warrior and the Google Sitemaps plugin. The Ultimate Tag Warrior generates tags, and the Google Sitemaps plugin appends these tags on the end of the XML sitemap that will be generated. This is will provide a huge benefit for your search engine optimization (SEO) campaign, as Google and other search engines will see your tags as keywords and associate your relevant content to those tags, awarding a higher score and a greater weight to your blog.

Just like the professional wrestler that inspired its name, the Ultimate Tag Warrior promised to be your ultimate tag team partner in succeeding with your business via your blog.

We recommend that you download this Plugin and place it straight on your Blog in order to get the best results. Visit http://www.myeasyonlinepay.com/blogging-tools for a comprehensive selection of Plugins on the internet today.

Spam is defined as an unsolicited advertisement aggressively published in a public media, and often in a manner that is unethical and detrimental to other people’s enjoyment of the services rendered by the said media.

When blog commenting became a very popular way of building back links for a particular website, blogs all over the internet were littered with spam in the form of such blog comments. It was quite common that a reader, who usually goes by a username with three or more consonants in succession, will post an “invitation” to visit a particular URL even if such an invitation and such a URL don’t have anything to do with the blog post nor the resulting discussion.

These spamming activities became so prevalent, so incessant, and so widespread that Wordpress itself started banning accounts which were associated with such approaches.

Many Wordpress plugins also introduced the “nofollow” function. Basically, when this function is turned on, the blog pages will tell search engine spiders not to provide any weight to the URLs that will be posted in them. It was hoped that such a feature would make spammers surrender, as the links they will ram down blogs’ throats will not lead to better page ranks for their own websites.

It was a case of wishful thinking on the part of blog owners.

The “nofollow” feature dissuaded some spammers, but most of them still persisted. URLs left in blog comments, after all, weren’t only meant to build up a website’s link popularity. They were also designed to garner – or perhaps, the proper term is “steal” – a blog’s visitors. These URLs in blog comments were also designed to generate direct traffic.

So, what can Wordpress bloggers do?

Enter the No Duplicate Comments Wordpress plugin.

The No Duplicate Comments plugin determines comments in the same page which have:

-	the same content;

-	the same name for the author; and/or

-	the same email address used.

The No Duplicate Comments plugin will not automatically delete duplicate posts. Rather, the plugin will lead the person who just submitted a post that is deemed a duplicate to an error page where he will be required to change a significant portion of his comment before it can be accepted for publication. This is a reasonable compromise, as duplicate comments can sometimes be accidental and readers should always be given the benefit of the doubt as they are the lifeblood of blogs.

It is hoped that the No Duplicate Comments Wordpress plugin, together with other Wordpress plugins that set a particular page as “nofollow,” will curb the proliferation of spamming activities that have negatively affected the reading convenience and interactive nature of blogs.

One of the uncommon search engine optimization (SEO) tactics is the maintenance of a Google sitemap for a particular website. A Google sitemap is an XML file that outlines the pages and subpages of your website so that Google’s own search engine spiders will have an easier time in indexing your pages and tracking changes and updates implemented therein. Many SEO veterans claim that the inclusion of a Google sitemap has spelled the difference in their websites’ positions in relevant search engine queries.

In the highly competitive world of search engine marketing (SEM), every action – no matter how seemingly small – counts a lot, after all.

This is true for blogs, as well.

Wordpress blog owners have to contend with the fact, however, that such blogging platform does not generate a Google-compliant sitemap.

Thankfully, the Google Sitemap Wordpress plugin has been released to, well, “plug” such a deficiency.

By installing the Google Sitemap plugin, you will be able to make your blog more competitive in fighting for a top slot in relevant search engine results. 80% of the traffic you will be able to generate for your pages will come from the search engines, after all. Every move you’ll make for your blog matters.

The Google Sitemap Wordpress plugin will automatically generate Google-compliant sitemaps for your blog. Additionally, the Google Sitemap Wordpress plugin also generates sitemaps that Yahoo, Ask and MSN can read.

The plugin also automatically calculates the priority of each blog entry, based on the number of comments posted therein. This prioritization system can be overridden, however, via a menu where the user can input the parameters he wants the sitemap to follow.

The Google Sitemap Wordpress plugin generates XML files in many languages, which is perfect for the regional indexing that Google has introduced in recent years.

Also of notable importance is the fact that the Google Sitemap Wordpress plugin pings search engines that can read the sitemap it generates every time a change therein is made. No need to manually resort to an external pinging tool. This plugin takes care of such a task.

Installing the Google Sitemap plugin is as easy as installing other plugins. Simply unzip the components of the file to your wp-content/plugins directory. Thereafter, go to your Wordpress administration page and install the plugin via your plugin menu. Access the plugin and click on “rebuild sitemap” to generate your sitemap for the very first time. Make manual changes if necessary.

One of the main reasons why blogs have quickly become the main marketing weapons of many online businessmen is the fact that they can easily win the favor of search engines. Blogs fare better than ordinary websites when it comes to placing in top results of search engine queries.

By using the Google Sitemap Wordpress plugin, you will be able to make blogs even more powerful tools in your quest for the number one position for the keyword/s you’re targeting.

Internet users are an impatient lot – such is a given fact. And it is a fact that webmasters and blog owners should accept. There is no changing this nature of their prospective visitors and readers – even if such a nature is acquired and rarely innate.

Truly, internet users seem to suffer from a perennial case of attention deficit disorder. They often judge a website based on their initial impressions on the same. Badly designed user interface? Poorly selected images? Horrid color combo? Visitors would quickly hop to another website ever so easily.

Of course, one of the primary criterions for the determination of whether a particular website or blog is the right one for them is this: the quality of the content before them. They almost always NEVER read the entirety of a particular digital content, however. They’d rather scan the same and survey the words for the details that may be of use to them.

If they find what they need, or at least, something that manages to capture their interests, they will stay.

If they don’t find such things, they’ll load up another website or blog.

The trick, therefore, lies in your ability to capture their interests immediately. If they don’t read the entirety of your content, you must be able to provide a condensed version – a summary if you will – of your articles/entries for them to conveniently peruse. Don’t make them load up pages just to do this, they will quickly run out of patience and give up with your website. As much as possible, provide the condensed versions of your content on the first page they will see when they visit your website.

If you’re a Wordpress blog owner, this shouldn’t be difficult.

Post Teaser, one of the most popular Wordpress plugins today, will give you the ability to offer teasers on appropriate pages in your blog. These teasers will show an excerpt of the content that is being previewed, a link to the page where it can be found, and options to provide the following details: word count, image count, and projected reading time required.

At first glance, Post teaser might sound like a simplistic – and even way too simplistic – Wordpress plugin.

However, studies show that it is one of the most essential Wordpress add-ons being distributed today.

Post Teaser eliminates the unsightly that sometimes plague Wordpress’ default preview system, a bug that may contribute in diminishing the interest and confidence your visitors have for your blog. Post Teaser also helps your blog save up on precious bandwidth – something that is a big issue if you are generating monstrous traffic but you’re under a limited bandwidth web hosting plan. Visitors will be encouraged to visit only the pages they like after viewing the previews created by Post Teaser. Lastly, Post Teaser makes your Wordpress blog look cool…cooler than walls of textual content, at least.

We recommend that you download this Plugin and place it straight on your Blog in order to get the best results. Visit http://www.myeasyonlinepay.com/blogging-tools for a comprehensive selection of Plugins on the internet today.

If this Web 2.0 movement is about user-driven content and classifications and conventional web operations are all about winning the favor of search engine, what then is the Web 2.0 equivalent of keywords? What will help “users” in “driving” particular content into specific classifications, much like how keywords help search engine spiders index web pages?

The answer: tags.

Indeed, tags are the keywords for the Web 2.0 movement. Tags are very important in indexing content pages into appropriate categories. Basically, the usage of tags determine whether your web pages will be placed in a category that people will look into when they’re searching for information about the subject matter.

Tags are also very important because they serve as links to a chain that extends throughout the World Wide Web. Content from all over the internet are interconnected via the tags assigned to them. This interconnection makes it easy for internet users to jump from one website to yours. It will also make it easy for your own visitors to jump from page to page in your website.

Wordpress, the leading blogging platform today, employs a tagging feature by default. However, such a feature is terribly limited. For starters, Wordpress’ tagging feature will require you to enter tags in custom fields before such words can be accredited as tags. Also, the placement of these tags are beyond customization, by default.

Simple Tags is a Wordpress plugin that seeks to remedy such limitations. With Simple Tags, Wordpress bloggers can now do the following:

- Use the in-post tagging feature that will allow users to assign tags as they compose a blog entry.

- Display a tag cloud on their blog pages.

- Import tags from other Wordpress plugins with similar purposes, like Ultimate Tag Warrior.

- Display list of blog entries that feature the same tags as the ones used on the current page.

- Display a “related tags” feature when visitors browse through the blog’s pages.

- Add tags as META keywords automatically.

- Implement tags by simply embedding codes (i.e. [tag] and [/tag]) while typing.

Based on the amazing features made possible by Simple Tags, the benefits of this Wordpress plugin are immense. Not only will these added features lead to better search engine optimization for the blog’s pages, they will also make it easy for visitors to find content relevant to what they’re looking for – content which can be found in the blog itself. This way, visitor retention is improved, and reader loyalty is easily fostered.

Simple Tags is one of those essential Wordpress plugins that no Wordpress blog should do without in this day and age. The importance of tags can never be undermined, and neither can the importance of this wonderful Wordpress add-on.

We recommend that you download this Plugin and place it straight on your Blog in order to get the best results. Visit http://www.myeasyonlinepay.com/blogging-tools for a comprehensive selection of Plugins on the internet today.
