What does writing for Blogging Emergency get me?
In return for your original quality post, you get the chance to introduce yourself to the Blogging Emergency community and show off your writing talents. This gives you a chance to exhibit your Wordpress expertise, and might get you some extra traffic back to your own site. Every author gets a resource box for every post they write, encouraging readers to find out more about you, and connect with you at your own blog.
How does being a guest author work?
When you sign up to contribute a weekly post to Blogging Emergency, you will receive your own login information, and your account will be set as a contributor. Being a contributor means that your post will be published after the editor has looked it over for quality and content.
We would love to see authors writing for Blogging Emergency on a regular basis, such as once a week, there is no minimum contribution required. Even a single quality article would be welcomed.
We generally do not edit or change your posts in any way, unless there is minor grammatical or stylistic need. If the content of the article needs changes, we’ll let you know what revisions are needed. You will be able to create your own resource box to help guide readers to your own site and tell them more about you.

Do You Accept Video & Podcasts?
You bet! If you’d like to put together a how-to video about wordpress, we’d love to feature such a post. We’ll even put it up on an Amazon Web Server that blows up to full-screen so that readers get a better view of your screen. The nice thing about doing it this way is that you can record video that is hours long, without the YouTube limitations.
Audio podcasts are another great way to tell the world about your wordpress knowledge, and we highly encourage them.
If you’re going to do a screen capture or podcasts, get with me on the details of the file format that we prefer, just to keep things simple. And so I can get you a login to upload your files.
Rules & Guidelines for Guest Authors
Quality is paramount to Blogging Emergency. These rules are in place to ensure that the quality of posts and integrity of the site remains high.
- The post/article should not be reproduced anywhere else on the web (in English) including your own blog (neither party benefits from duplicate content).
- Any images used in the post cannot mess up the design of the site. As a guideline, the max width of any picture you post should not exceed 500 pixels. Don’t worry though, we’ll format things into the post to make it pretty.
- It is okay to link to your own blog if it is relevant to do so (eg. referring to a coding example or whatnot). However, you should not write articles around topics to justify a link to your blog and you should not actively encourage visitors to visit your blog. Remember, you get a link to your blog in your resource box at the end of the article.
- No affiliate codes or referral links are allowed in posts.
